Like the word “viral”, I think the word “genius” is grossly abused in today’s world. Damn, you know you are old when you start using terms such as “today’s world”.

Like I was saying, I don’t like how “genius” is just bandied about everywhere, flung around all over the place like an unwelcome lamb. I mean everyone uses it all the frikkin time. This fellow is a genius, that fellow is a genius saala. Wtf.

And then I came across this letter sent by the building manager to all the residents of a building in which my friend stays:

“It has been brought to the notice of the Committee that children…..while playing, break tree branches, pluck out small plants in shear fun.”

Now THAT is genius.

I think Bombay (and in this regard it is true for Cal as well) becomes a different person during “winter”. Almost like it is asking you to forgive her for all the shit you have to put up with for the rest of the year. Well not asking for forgiveness, too proud for that. But still, just showing you something to fall in love with all over again.

I went to the race course the other morning. Absolutely gorgeous. There were all these magnificent creatures, dressed up and prancing about with great pride and all that. So beautiful, I could look at them forever.

There were some horses too.

  1. ‘shear’ genius, really. But wait till you hear this. This line is actually from a plaint filed in the district court by the members of a society, against the builder.
“The developer had promised us the following amenities which have not been made available to us: Swimming pool, Tennis and Squash court, Snooker table, Scatting ring and bowling alley”. Now THAT my friend is genius, don’t ya think?

  2. You have no idea how loudly I laughed when I read that. Sometimes that line comes to haunt me in the middle of the night and I burst out laughing again. You can imagine how spooked my husband is…
